Andromeda Galaxy

Red: Kquorri Arm
Yellow: Ching Arm
Light Pink: Secundus-Norma Arm
Dark Pink: Extra-Pynt Arm
Purple: Foederatae Arm
Dark Blue: Vermis-Minoris Arm
Light Blue: Vermis-Majoris Arm
Green: Tpyer-Chiv Arm

The Andromeda galaxy is easily accessible to ships with a QIN drive installed, but to any other ships traveling to this closest neighbor is a daunting task. But in fact, long ago was discovered a fold in space-time, connecting two parts of the universe - a part of the Milky Way, and a part of Andromeda. Flying through it would lead you to the other galaxy. This was the window to the old Kqorrian invasion, and once it was brought safely out of their reach, it was used as a hub connecting the two galaxies.

The Andromeda galaxy is the most advanced of the two galaxies inhabited by the Alliance. Whereas the Milky Way has numerous alliances, and countless more independent species, the Andromeda Galaxy has only two alliances, and two independent species. The four members of the UAI were originally an alliance called the Galactic Freedom Coalition. The other alliance is a confederacy of 9 known species, forming the Transgalactic Federation. The Kqorrian Warriors Dominion, and the Tpynt Imperium are the two other species in the galaxy.

The four species from Andromeda that now have joined the Alliance(The Ching, Picto, Corttans and Diitra) were once an alliance of their own known as the Galactic Freedom Coalition(GFC). Being the smallest voice in the Andromeda galaxy, the GFC stood for purity and freedom from oppression from the Kqorrians. They just barely managed to hold back the Dominion from their space, but by the time they decided to join the UAI their defenses were buckling. Now a distant and misunderstood part of the Alliance, these four species still need more help then they're being given, but the Overseer of the Alliance is taking care of it right now.

Transgalactic Federation

When first visiting Andromeda, the flagship of the Alliance, the Prodigy, set course for Alaastu, the capitol world of the TGF, and homeworld of the Alaastirans. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the TGF had set with old age and become a corrupt foundation standing for it's own benefits. They viewed the GFC as a nuisance, as they continuously disrupted the peace the TGF established with the Kqorrians as they defended themselves. They were even in the planning stages of assisting the Kqorrians to rid Andromeda of the "lesser races," until they were annexed into the Alliance. Needless to say, relations with them are unstable. The nine species in this Federation are: Alaastirans, Aer, Aerpp, Chivvian, Borshkov, Okios, Prii Tozie, Katangan, and Tortytalon.

Kqorrian Warriors Dominion

The Kqorrians were the first species from Andromeda known to the Alliance, but not because they were right there when the Prodigy entered the galaxy. Long before the Alliance's own incursion into Andromeda, the Kqorrians invaded the Milky Way. Proving a challenge for even the great Reptilinod to vanquish, they were finally driven back into their own galaxy by a massive joint effort on the part of most of the species in the Milky Way. Now, they still present a threat to the Andromeda species of the Alliance, and also the Milky Way, in the form of the Kqorri-Resca Alliance.

Tpynt Imperiium

The Tpynt are well known as fierce warriors. However, they do not often show their faces on the galactic scene. They are thought to be xenophobes, hiding behind their borders until they feel it right to strike out. Not much is known about their culture. The most interesting thing known about them is they appear to be arboreal. A short neck allowed for the first pair of long, strong arms to brachiate while the shorter, more delicate second arms manipulated what the Tpynt had it's eyes on. The tumorous tail wrapped around branches and the dips and tumors fit perfectly around them. But as far as technology, we only know that they are strong enough to keep the Kqorrians at bay.

The area beyond Picto and Corttan space at the "south" end of the map is known as the Neutron Belt. It is an area of high levels of neutron radiation. Within the Neutron Belt is the Forbidden Region, where many ships have been lost. Found within the Forbidden Region is where the ships went; a spacial anomaly known as The Pocket. Its a whole in the universe, that when entered is a conduit to a smaller universe on the other side. This universe has cultures and galaxies all of it's own. The adventure continues...
