Description

Something a little different; these are my Star Trek: Online captains. The game itself is quite a departure from the T.V. series(Mainly that your character probably kills thousands of people in the course of two missions, while, obviously, Picard and the other TV captains barely ever killed at all). However, it allows you to create very unique characters, and give them a biography. This "charactersmith" aspect has kept me hooked, as I love the crews I have created.

Most of these captains' crews include more than 4 people of course, but it's impossible to get the whole crew together; I just got pictures of the Captain and his standard Away Team on missions, which usually contains some of the most important/most interesting characters.
--

Top to Bottom, Crew listed from left to right:

•USS Prodigy; Admiral Kaleb Jaegar Martin(K.J.): Admiral Martin is a Starfleet brat - meaning multiple generations of his family have served(3 to be precise). While this admittedly gave him a bit of an in, he did nonetheless work hard to be worthy of acceptance. He started off his career as a science officer. When Starfleet found itself in times of war, surrounded on all sides, he was given a field commission, alongside many others. Now an Admiral, he commands the USS Prodigy, an experimental starship with many different kinds of innovative technologies(biological upgrades, Borg tech, advanced Starfleet devices, etc). His pioneering work into a couple branches of theoretical physics has even allowed him to upgrade the tech he was given. But he is a very emotional person, and loves his crew like his family.

-Meghan McKarter: Commander McKarter is the Admiral's first officer, having taken the place of Ark'eyl, his previous first officer, who has now moved on to command his own ship. Martin and McKarter have shown more than a passing interest in each other(And promised to be together after the Iconian invasion is quelled), but she is not a woman to be coddled - she is insistent on joining away missions, and helping defend the Federation, and life as they know it, from outside threats like the newly emerged Iconians. She is a sharp intellect, and also skilled in defense.
-T'naek: Previously a member of the Reman Resistance, T'naek offered, and was given to the Prodigy by Obisek(the leader of the Resistance) as a gesture of goodwill after the crew aided him in his goals. T'naek is a skilled surgeon, but due to his background he serves better as the Prodigy's field medic. He is still proud of his race, and dons the Reman uniform every day, but he is devoted to his new crew. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more loyal officer.

-Qubit: A few years ago, the crew of the Prodigy discovered what was left of a Soong-type android on an abandoned planet. They pieced it together, but it was only a matter of time before it started to deteriorate. This android, named Byte, worked together with the Prodigy's chief engineer(A rescued Borg, designated Six of Six) to create a totally new android - called Byte-type. This android was named Qubit. He serves at the Ops position aboard the Prodigy, and as a field engineer on away-missions.

-Emidok: Emidok is a member of the Lac'rtod(/luh-SER-tod/) species. They claim to have once spanned the entire space between the Dominion(Gamma Quadrant) and the Borg(Delta Quadrant), and to have kept both in check. Now they have control over a few sectors closer to the core of the galaxy. But they still have very advanced technology. Emidok serves as Martin's personal security. He is very stern, and emotionless, though he does try to look more intimidating than he already is, to the chagrin of the crew. But they all have a soft spot for him.

•IKS Moch'qu'; Lieutenant General Rey'juk: Rey'juk is revered throughout the Klingon Empire, and beyond, for his legendary career. He has done much for the Defense Force, and in return, now commands the Bortas class IKS Moch'qu'("Superior", "-qu'" being emphatic. Perhaps "Great One".). Most Imperials find, to their surprise, however, that Rey'juk is more logical than aggressive. He enjoys a good battle, however he sees no need for the wanton violence Chancellor J'mpok advocates so passionately. He is secretly 'glad' at the return of the Iconians, simply because it forces the three main powers of the day(Federation, Empire, and Republic) to work as one, alongside some of the minor powers, to defend their way of life.
-Yogren Tane: Tane is an actual Martian, though they call themselves J'khuraaans. The Federation, specifically humans, are unaware as of yet, but the J'khuraaans became space-faring millions of years ago. They were forced off all their worlds by the Iconians, who set them back tens of thousands of years. Finally reemerging into the galactic scene after their period of vicious xenophobia, they intend eventually get their planet back, though it now resides at the heart of Federation space. Yogren has no such ambitions personally, though he does hate humans, and most Federation species. He simply enjoys the chances serving the Moch'qu' crew allows him to fight the Federation on occasion.

-Bek: Bek's people, the Breen, are a reclusive type, like the Romulans used to be. They are very powerful technologically, and aided the dominion decades ago in attacking planet Earth. Bek is similar compared to his people as Rey'juk is to the Empire he serves; the Breen are vicious and xenophobic, while Bek prefers to fight those who hurt him, and works among aliens. However, while on the Moch'qu', he often seems to  represents his people, keeping mostly to himself, and threatening those who insult him. But he is a good, solid officer, and serves Rey'juk well.

-Laska: Laska came aboard the Moch'qu' as it's first science officer. While she specializes in advanced physics, she is not one to be pushed around, and can hold her ground against Rey'juk himself, though he is also very intelligent, and much larger and stronger. She is mated to G'lltar, another Klingon officer aboard, and they have two daughters - Jad'oS, and an adopted android named Syrge.

-Deff'coS: From a Nausicaan colony world, Deff'coS ran away from home in resentment of his father, and joined a fringe-town's security force. From there he became a sharp strategist, and an even sharper swordsman. When the Nausicaans slowly began merging into the Empire, he got a role aboard a starship, under the command of Captain Rey'juk. From there, he followed the crew and defended them. Being a younger, healthier Nausicaan, he has a bit of a playful rivalry with the ships surgeon(Rek'daan, an old, sickly Nausicaan), though he keeps behind a clear line, since he needs him to heal him in emergencies.

•RRW Vadrilon; Vice Admiral Wymin Valos: Valos is a middle aged Romulan whose only desire is for peace. But he was born too late to enjoy that peace. After settling on a Romulan colony after the Hobus incident that destroyed many, many worlds and toppled the Romulan government. But soon his colony was invaded by Romulan Imperialists, who wanted to rebuild the Romulan Star Empire under Empress Sela. This forced Valos into the hands of the Romulan Republic(A new Romulan government), where, despite his desire for peace,  he was given command of a ship and went on missions for the Republic. He truly believes in what the Republic represents, and believes they are the first step towards galactic peace. He has a deep-seated hatred for people who hurt innocents, like the Romulan Tal Shiar. In line with his first profession, as a doctor, he wishes to help all those he finds who suffered under their hands.

-Neuqao Rami: Neuqao is the envoy between Starfleet and the Republic forces. There are rumors he has ties with Section 31(A Federation secret service tasked with using any means to defend the people). However, he knows his limits, and listens to Valos. And you can always count on him in a fight.
-Juora Tahmi'jun: Subcommander Tahmi'jun, or u'Juora as Wymin calls her(His family has a tradition of adding the "u" prefix to people dear/important to them), is the Vadrilon's Operations officer. She is also his wife. She is a sharp intellect, and a good person to have in a pinch. She was on the same world that Valos lived on when it was attacked. When he found her again, he asked her to join his crew.
-Claar: The ship's chief medical officer, Claar is one of the two Remans on the senior staff(The other being Viine; or u'Viine to Wymin, who views her as an adoptive daughter). He is close friends with Valos, and the two often share drinks since he has boarded. He is well known for his sarcastic wit. Despite the bad he's seen under Obisek's Resistance, he stays strong in his pursuit of medicine, and Valos admires his senior for that.
-Two of Five: A bit of a new face, Two of Five(a.k.a. "Two") has only recently been released from the Borg collective. Very little is known about her - even her name is still a mystery. Her long road to recovery has only just begun. Although Valos feels somewhat bad about it, due to her time as a drone, she follows orders like her life depends on it.

•IKS Hov'cha'bIp; Major General Kqi'ng: General Kqi'ng is a member of the Kqo'rrian species from Andromeda. He was brought to the Milky Way by a spacial fold. He really wants to get back to his home, but with the Iconians appearance in the Milky Way he wants to stay and fight them(The Iconians were for a time in Andromeda, in which time all the forces of Andromeda had to work together to be rid of them. He has a personal hatred for them. And if they get a foothold here, they'll have the resources to launch another attack on Andromeda). In order to return to Andromeda afterwards, he has made friends - and enemies - to get what he needs.
-Jyn: Jyn is an old Klingon, marooned on a planet when her ship crashed. After over two decades, she was found and brought back. She is still sharp and strong, though a bit behind. She is also very strange, having lived alone for so long. But she serves well, and that's all Kqi'ng cares about.
-Venebo'k: Venebo'k is a rigorously trained warrior-scientist. He is a fierce opponent to the sharpest strategists and strongest muscle. He is a physicist, working on particle physics mostly. However, his strong mind has allowed him to do work as a doctor when necessary. He has devoted himself to his work and training, learning to do this to find purpose in his life, since his parents always openly favored their younger child(Even after he went missing).
-Qighur: Qighur, a massive creature made of stone(Taller than Kqi'ng, though the perspective of this picture doesn't show it), is not from this galaxy either - or even this universe. He is from a microuniverse with three galaxies, that is attached to our own. He was banished from his own universe where he was a criminal. Serving the Hov'cha;bIp, he gets to channel his psychosis on Kqi'ng's enemies.
-Rywen: Those that know Rywen best will know that you can tell her emotions from the way her green patches light up in different patterns of bioluminescence. From this, she's learned not to lie to certain people. She serves as the communications and sensors officer.

•USS Praetora; Captain Serentai: An individual of the Rengi species, for a long time Serentai was grievously ill. She was doubled over, her eyes glossy, her face with black, branching patterns all over it. In her time in Starfleet, she has slowly found the cure, and healed herself to emerge as the beautiful woman she is now. Serentai is eager to serve Starfleet, thanks in no small part to her career providing her a cure, and she is kind, and understanding towards all. She is, however, a tactician, and knows how to get in the most hits before getting hit herself.
-Tolek: Lieutenant Tolek is the ship's chief medical officer, with much experience behind him. He works hard to make personal cures, tied to an individuals genetic code, for such destructive banes as Tuvan sydrome. In his old age he has found enjoyment in a little emotional enjoyment - but only while alone.
-Peax: Peax' parents were lost to her when they died of a genetic disease. With a potential of getting it herself, she decided to leave home, and join Starfleet, where few Rigelians serve, to make sure she couldn't pass it on. She is very loyal, to the ship, her friends, and very much to her ideals. She longs for close companions, but feels obligated to isolate herself for the most part.
-Phonon: Phonon is the second Byte-type android, build by Six of Six and Qubit for the Praetora. He was programmed with tactical proficiency(As opposed to Qubit's engineering/operations skills). He is mostly identical to the Prodigy's Qubit, the only difference being the uniform he dons for his tactical career.
-Noreen Elisa Ono: Lt. Cmdr. Ono was raised by her human mother, and Betazoid step-father. Because of this, she is used to having her mind read like an open book. She loves the privacy of not being around telepaths while on the Prodigy, but very occasionally forgets to say some things out loud. Conversely, she sometimes gets too emotional, and says far too much openly.

•RRW Apokhelypt; Subcommander Tu: The Eltiu, as she calls herself(No one knows her real name), is the last of her species. They were all wiped out by the Borg. Before that happened, a dozen or so others uploaded their consciousness to her mind. Now she walks around, while still the dominant mind, with many other minds vying for her attention. This causes her to have a vast reservoir of experience, but also makes her emotionally unstable, and exhaustible. So while her dominant mind tries hard to make good decisions, she often settles with the one that sounds best to begin with. Because of what they did, the Eltiu has a personal vendetta against the Borg, to an extreme only her unbalanced mind could produce(The name she took, 'Eltiu', in fact means Ultimatum, or Finale, in reference to the Borg).
-Tovan Khev: Tovan lived on the same colony as Valos, and saw it destroyed as well. But instead of a simple deep hatred for the Tal Shiar, Khev turned into a full fledged rebel. While Valos desires to help those the Tal Shiar hurt, Khev wants to hurt the Tal Shiar back; in fact, he has made it his personal mission.
-Nua H'vren: While everyone on the Apokhelypt seems to have their own mission, Nua is sort of the nearly-unwanted mora-center. She represents the Republic aboard the ship, and her loyalty to order has earned her the nil-envied job of reporting on the others' actions to the Republic.
-Kvaeta: Kvaeta, wearing her Reman uniform, has learned to be naturally, and openly, aggressive toward most Romulans, but especially those she knows feel that Remans are an inferior race that should be restored to their role as slaves. If she believes you are insulting her, or that you feel that way, you run the risk of broken bones at a minimum.
-Phajen Cree: Cree, previously a Tal-Shiar operative, is not everyone's favorite face around the ship. While the Eltiu is wary of him because of her officers' feelings, and H'vren is at least willing to give him a chance, Khev and Kvaeta truly despise him, and wish him off the ship. Nevertheless, Cree tries constantly to prove he is reformed - though he'll do no special favors.

•USS Oracle; Vice Admiral Ridaer Thyro: Ridaer(Bajoran names have the surname at the front) is a relatively new Starfleet officer. He progressed from cadet to Admiral in a fraction of Admiral Martin's career. In fact, he was aided by intel via a tesseract transmitter, which allows communication from the future, telling him which events, information, and items were of value. This legitimately earned him the rank of Vice Admiral, though some might protest if it were known. Ridaer is fascinated by the role Humans seem to play in his people's culture, considering the Emissary in their prophecies turned out to be a human. He joined Starfleet to learn more about them. He is a bit impulsive, though he can control it - he simply doesn't most of the time.
-Elisa Flores: Commander Flores is Ridaer's first officer, and love interest. She is a strong woman, though she comes off a bit too much so. She's served with him, like many others on his crew, since the day he was given field command. She is loyal to the end, and trusts him completely.
-Sira: The Oracle's chief medical officer, Ridaer had a passing interest in her a while back, in the Academy. However, that has long been gone, and without her knowing. Her Vulcan heritage gives her the benefit of emotionless logic. She does however feel strongly about her friends and wishes to serve them to the best of her ability.
-Kroc: As chief of security, Kroc fulfills the same role he had on Vega colony before the Borg invaded. When Ridaer saved him, and asked for his help, Kroc eventually joined the current ships crew, and has been there since then. He is strong, but deliberate. And he prefers a good read to a good party.
-Ch'kevva: Ch'kevva is not a Starfleet officer(Not yet). She is an Aenar civilian who works on the Oracle as their operations officer and executive engineer, as well as going on away missions. Having suffered, like most Aenar, persecution by Andorians, she is mostly enigmatic and only trusts her closest friends. However, everyone on the Oracle she trusts with her life.

•IKS HoS; Lieutenant Commander Syrge: An android, Syrge knows very little about her origins. All she knows is that she crash landed on the Klingon homeworld(Qo'noS), and was raised by G'lltar and Laska, parents of her sister Jad'oS. She also has the ability of matter/energy conversion, which allows her to create matter from energy(So she can shapeshift, or create devices), or derive energy from matter. She is quickly making a name for herself in the Empire, as she already has on Qon'oS, for her android strength and intellect. She always strives to be more than she is.
-Jad'oS: Syrge's first officer, Jad'oS is also her adoptive sister. While she trusts Syrge with her life, she is nonetheless wary of her abilities, which put a scar on her at a younger age. Their relationship only gets stronger over time however. Jad'oS loves to have fun, though she balances it out with her duties, at which she is diligent.
-Kikulon: Kikulon is Venebo'k's cousin. He was abducted by rogue Remans, alongside his father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Before killing his elders, they psychically implanted all their memories in his head, giving him over 450 years of knowledge and experience. Though he still struggles to put it all in place, he has undoubtedly benefitted from it.
-Margora Leon McKarter: McKarter is a member of the Terran Empire, an alternate universe's violent, tyrannical human government. She served under the alternate version of Admiral Martin, as her counterpart does here, but the last time the Terran forces invaded she got left behind when Admiral Martin closed the portal.
-Loron: Loron is an enigma, even to his fellow crewmates. His only goal is to some day command a starship of his own and regain some honor he says he lost. Rumor has it that his wife kicked him out after he killed her father, not believing it was with good reason.

•RRW Alhaekhra; Centurion Jossu Chavek Khev(J.C.): Though he is not really a Khev, J.C. was adopted by the Khev family(No relation to Tovan Khev of the Apokhelypt) when he was found alone and deserted. He has no knowledge of his origin, except that he is half human and half Romulan. In fact, he is a clone of Admiral Martin, with Romulan DNA thrown in, and enhanced in a way that hasn't been understood yet, meaning he has potential beyond even what humans and Romulans are capable of. While his human counterpart took the route of theoretical science, Jossu devoted himself to applied engineering. He even created an intelligent computer AI, called Alhaekhra. He uploads this to the mainframe of each ship he commands, as a friend, and to help him discover himself.
-Tovan Khev: Tovan(Also no relation to Tovan Khev of the Apokhelypt) is not related to J.C., but they are closer than any siblings. They are some of the few survivors of Virinat, where the Khevs brought J.C. to live(Before the Tal Shiar attacked there too). Tovan sticks through everything with him, as his brother and advocate.
-V'pel Uamara: Lieutenant Uamara is a nurse, and geneticist in training. But she already has enough experience to be the perfect guide as J.C. learns about himself. This close relationship blossoms from her tongue-in-cheek fascination with him, into a close friendship, to a full-on romance, as they learn about each other and themselves.
-Shalo Brinn: Brinn comes from a rough and tough family, where she is the least of which(Though this role is reversed on the Alhaekhra). She aims her learned aggression at winning the Republic's freedom, be it from Tal Shiar, Elachi, or Iconian. As inexperienced as she is, she can be overbearing sometimes. She has a crush on Tovan, which he finds amusing.
-Q'uum: When the Alhaekhra's chief engineer, a depressed soul with constant self-worth issued to begin with, found herself being black-mailed and controlled by the Tal Shiar, she couldn't bear the though of how she'd be seen when she was discovered. This moved her to create an android with a crude Reman appearance, download her most important memories into it, and remove herself from the equation. The android Q'uum now struggles to find her own place on the ship, though her crewmates are all very supportive, if constantly saddened by the reminder of their lost friend.
